Latvian born Lithuania based vocal improvisation artist Dana Indane-Surkiene shares the first single from her debut album, upcoming in spring 2021. "Songs of Mother and Field" – "Gaidību Dziesmas" uncover the fragile enchantment of an expectant mother addressing her child in a gentle, subtle sequence of songs that are sung in a universal tongue of primordial love.

Work on the album started in early 2018 in collaboration with Riga native sound artist and phonography specialist Maksims Shentelevs who recorded several of Danas' very intimate improvised songs that she vocalized naturally during her first pregnancy. Careful and meditative work followed the first natural impulse, as two artists created a symbiotic sound material integrating free vocal improvisation and sound recordings of the natural environment. Produced by true professionals and enthusiasts of their craft blessed with a gift of deep listening, the authors followed very personally, with a devout documental approach, expanding borders of vocal music and field recording and creating a new and fresh genre of "field sound tales."

Danas gentle yet strong voice sparkling with true feminine energy meets the all-embracing enchantment of a warm rumbling Baltic shoreline, sweet chirping of alpine grasshoppers, crackling of campfires on midsummer nights, stiffening chill of polar winds, croaking cackle of young storks in the deep countryside, and echoing swan songs on the crystal surface of black forest lakes. All these unique sound journeys recorded by phonography specialist Maksims Shentelevs bring in signatures from all over the world, accompanied by both artists' instrumentalizations.

Nine compositions include recordings made during Danas' first pregnancy, later complemented by breath and voice of her newborn daughter and completed during her second pregnancy. These bring to light and deliver to careful ears the most gentle and subtle vibrations of the universe that reveal themselves in the act of continuous rebirth.

The album design is crafted by visual artist Laura Feldberga who used singers' art photographs made by photographer Inese Kalniņa during the last month of Danas' pregnancy. Accompanying poetic text is written by Dana during her second pregnancy.

The album will be released in summer 2021. Produced by Radio NABA and NABAMUSIC.

The first single of the new debut album - "Bells in Song" – "Zvani (pasaka)" was released on January 7. 2021. It carries a message to the unborn child of lullaby nights with the mother’ s heartbeat and voice bringing love and grace within a peaceful soundscape to welcome the child into a new and magical world.

Mūzikas albūmu veido deviņas kompozīcijas - Danas Indānes-Surkienes pirmo gaidību laikā ierakstītās balss improvizācijas, kas nav piesaistītas nevienai valodai, un Maksima Šenteļeva pasaules ceļojumu un meklējumu gaitā tapušie vides skaņu ainavu ieraksti. Albūma ietvaros tie papildināti ar abu autoru neuzkrītošām instrumentālām iespēlēm. Albūma vizuālo formātu veido māksliniece Laura Feldberga, kopā ar fotogrāfes Ineses Kalniņas attēliem un Danas Indānes-Surkienes otrā bērna gaidību laikā tapušajiem tekstiem, radot simbolisku sievietes un bērna gara saiknes iemiesošanos vizuālā mākslas darbā.
